Prednisolone Tablets

Product Information

Main Ingredients: Prednisolone

Description: This product is a white or off-white circular, single-faced tablet with a cross score mark.

Pharmacological Actions:

Pharmacodynamics: Adrenocortical hormone drug. Prednisolone has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and immunosuppressive effects. This product can inhibit inflammatory reactions caused by various factors, reduce exudative edema in the early stages of inflammation, thereby alleviating inflammatory symptoms; in the late stages of inflammation, it inhibits collagen and granulation tissue proliferation, preventing adhesions and scar formation. This product exerts anti-allergic and immunosuppressive effects by inhibiting histamine formation and release, preventing or inhibiting cell-mediated immune responses and delayed hypersensitivity reactions, and reducing the expansion of primary immune responses.

Pharmacokinetics: Bioequivalence trials have shown that after a single oral administration of this product and Prednisolone tablets produced by Lloyd Inc. (USA) to Beagle dogs at a dose of 2.5mg per 4.5kg body weight, the two preparations are bioequivalent.

Indications:

Used for the treatment of allergic and inflammatory diseases in dogs. Commonly used for non-specific eczema, summer dermatitis, and burns of the skin; allergic manifestations such as acute urticaria, allergic dermatitis, drug and serum reactions, bronchial asthma, and pollen allergy; eye diseases such as iritis, iridocyclitis, secondary glaucoma, uveitis, and chorioretinitis; ear diseases such as otitis externa; muscle and skeletal diseases such as myositis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and bursitis; and various chronic or recurrent diseases of unknown etiology such as ulcerative colitis and nephritis.

When dogs have acute bacterial infections, it should be used in combination with antibacterial drugs.

Since this product inhibits inflammatory responses such as leukocyte infiltration and phagocytosis, prednisolone may mask infection symptoms and aggravate the progression of infection. Therefore, dogs receiving prednisolone treatment should be monitored for concurrent infections. If an infection occurs, appropriate antibacterial measures or discontinuation of the drug must be implemented.

This product should not be used in excess of the recommended dosage, and dogs receiving treatment should be closely monitored.
