Amoxicillin Soluble Powder

Amoxicillin Soluble Powder

Product Information

Main Ingredient: Amoxicillin

Description: This product is white or off-white powder.

Pharmacological Action:

Pharmacodynamics: Amoxicillin is a β-lactam antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. Its antibacterial spectrum and activity are basically the same as ampicillin. It exhibits weaker activity against most Gram-positive bacteria than penicillin and is sensitive to penicillinase, so it is ineffective against penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It has strong activity against Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., Haemophilus, Brucella and Pasteurella, yet these bacteria tend to develop drug resistance readily. It is not sensitive to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Compared with ampicillin, amoxicillin achieves better absorption in monogastric animals and higher blood concentration, thus delivering favorable efficacy against systemic infections. It is applicable to systemic infections of the respiratory tract, urinary system, skin and soft tissues caused by susceptible bacteria.

Pharmacokinetics: Amoxicillin is fairly stable against gastric acid. After oral administration to monogastric animals, 74%~92% of the drug is absorbed. Gastrointestinal contents affect the absorption rate but not the absorption extent, so it can be administered mixed with feed. At equivalent oral doses, the serum concentration of amoxicillin is 1.5~3 times higher than that of ampicillin.

Drug Interactions:

(1) Combined use of this product with aminoglycosides can increase the concentration of the latter in bacteria and produce synergistic effects.

(2) Macrolides, tetracyclines, amide alcohols and other bacteriostatic agents interfere with the bactericidal effect of this product, so combined administration is not recommended.

Actions and Uses: β-lactam antibiotic. Used for the treatment of infections caused by amoxicillin-susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria in chickens.

Dosage and Administration: Calculated on the basis of this product. Oral administration: single dose, 0.2~0.3 g per kg body weight for chickens, twice daily for 5 consecutive days.

Mixed drinking: 0.6 g of the product per liter of drinking water for chickens, used for 3~5 consecutive days.

Adverse Reactions: It strongly interferes with the normal flora of the gastrointestinal tract.

Precautions:

(1) Not to be used for laying hens producing eggs for human consumption during the laying period.

(2) Not suitable for infections caused by penicillin-resistant Gram-positive bacteria.

(3) Prepare immediately before use.

Withdrawal Period: 7 days for chickens.

Specification: 10%
