Description: This product is a pale yellow tablet.
Functions and Uses:
Tetracycline antibiotic. Used for infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and Mycoplasma.
Dosage and Administration:
Calculated by doxycycline. Oral administration: Single dose per 1 kg of body weight — pigs, colts, foals, and lambs: 3–5 mg; dogs and cats: 5–10 mg; poultry: 15–25 mg. Once daily, for 3 to 5 consecutive days.
Adverse Reactions:
(1) May cause vomiting after oral administration.
(2) Intestinal flora disruption; long-term use may lead to vitamin deficiency, and in severe cases, secondary infections. It has a broad-spectrum inhibitory effect on equine intestinal bacteria, which may cause secondary infections by drug-resistant Salmonella or unidentified pathogens, leading to severe or even fatal diarrhea.
(3) Overdose may cause gastrointestinal dysfunction, such as anorexia, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Precautions:
(1) Poultry laying eggs for human consumption must not be treated during the laying period; cattle and sheep producing milk for human consumption must not be treated during the lactation period.
(2) Use with caution in pregnant and lactating animals.
(3) Contraindicated in animals with severe liver or kidney dysfunction.
(4) Oral administration is not recommended for adult ruminants and equine animals.
Withdrawal Period: Cattle and poultry: 28 days; sheep: 4 days; pigs: 7 days.
