Tilmicosin Phosphate Premix

Tilmicosin Phosphate Premix

Product Information

Main Ingredients: Tilmicosin Phosphate Premix

Pharmacological Actions:

Pharmacodynamics: Tilmicosin belongs to macrolide antibiotics. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by reversibly binding to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, blocking transpeptidation and mRNA translocation. This action is basically limited to rapidly dividing bacteria and mycoplasma, acting as a fast-acting bacteriostatic agent during the growth phase. This product is mainly effective against Gram-positive bacteria and mycoplasma; its effect on bacteria is weak, while its effect on mycoplasma is strong. Sensitive Gram-positive bacteria include Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis, Listeria spp., Clostridium perfringens, Clostridium chauvoei, etc. Sensitive bacteria can develop resistance to tilmicosin, and there is partial cross-resistance between tilmicosin and erythromycin in Staphylococcus aureus.

Pharmacokinetics: Tilmicosin is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration. In pigs, the peak blood concentration is reached 1 hour after oral administration, whereas tilmicosin phosphate is absorbed less. The concentration of tilmicosin entering the milk is about 20% of the simultaneous serum concentration. Tilmicosin is excreted in urine and bile in its original form.

Drug Interactions: (1) Due to the same site of action, it should not be used simultaneously with other macrolides and lincosamides.

(2) Combined use with β-lactams manifests as an antagonistic effect.

Functions and Indications: Macrolide antibiotic. Mainly used for the prevention and treatment of diseases caused by mycoplasma infection in pigs and chickens, and also used for the treatment of necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens in chickens.
