Product Information
Main Ingredient: Tylosin
Description: This product is white to pale yellow powder.
Pharmacological Actions:
Pharmacodynamics: Tylosin is an animal-specific macrolide antibiotic with strong activity against mycoplasma. Its antibacterial spectrum is similar to erythromycin. Susceptible Gram-positive bacteria include Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), pneumococci, streptococci, Bacillus anthracis, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Listeria, Clostridium putrefaciens, Clostridium chauvoei, etc. Susceptible Gram-negative bacteria include Haemophilus, Neisseria meningitidis, Pasteurella, etc. Susceptible bacteria may develop resistance to this product, and Staphylococcus aureus shows partial cross-resistance between this product and erythromycin.
Pharmacokinetics: Tylosin can be absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration, while tylosin phosphate is less absorbable. After absorption, tylosin is widely distributed in the body. The drug concentration in organs via injection administration is 2~3 times higher than that via oral administration, but it hardly penetrates into cerebrospinal fluid.
Drug Interactions:
(1) It should not be used concurrently with other macrolides, lincosamides and amphenicols due to the same action target.
(2) Antagonistic effect appears when combined with β-lactams.
