Pimobendan Chewable Tablets

Pimobendan Chewable Tablets

Composition: Pimobendan

Appearance: Mottled brown oval with white spots (1.25mg and 2.5mg specification) or oval scored tablet (5mg specification).

Indication:

Ø For the treatment of canine congestive heart failure caused by cardiac valve insufficiency (mitral and/or tricuspid regurgitation) or dilated cardiomyopathy;

Ø For the treatment of preclinical dilated cardiomyopathy in large dogs (asymptomatic, accompanied by increased left ventricular end-systolic and end-diastolic diameters diagnosed by echocardiography);

Ø For the treatment of preclinical myxomatous mitral valve disease (asymptomatic systolic mitral valve murmur and cardiac enlargement) in dogs, delaying the onset of clinical symptoms of congestive heart failure.

Advantages:

Effective in two common heart diseases: myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) and dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).

It is a combination of positive muscle strength and systemic vasodilation.

Relieve clinical symptoms and improve the quality of life of affected dogs.

Sooner or later, rest assured of life.

Usage and dosage:

Calculated by Pimobendan. Oral administration:

Every 1kg body weight, dog 0.25mg, 2 times a day.

Ø For dogs with a body weight of about 5 kg, a 1.25mg chewable tablet is administered in the morning and evening respectively.

Ø For dogs with a body weight of about 10kg, a 2.5mg chewable tablet is administered in the morning and evening respectively.

Ø For dogs with a body weight of about 20kg, a 5mg chewable tablet is administered in the morning and evening respectively.

The chewable tablet can be broken into two halves according to the score line, so that the dosage can be more accurate according to the body weight (the daily dose range is 0.2~0.6mg/kg body weight, and the optimal dose is 0.5mgkg body weight). You can eat 1 hour after the administration, and diuretics (such as masemide) can be used in combination; for dogs with congestive heart failure, it can be administered continuously for a long time.

Adverse reactions:

1. Slight rapid heart rate and vomiting may occur in a very small number of affected dogs, which are related to the dosage. After reducing the dosage, the symptoms can disappear on their own. Very few affected dogs may experience transient diarrhea, anorexia, or lethargy.

2. In a very small number of affected dogs, it may affect the initial hemostatic effect (mucosal bleeding or subcutaneous bleeding). It is not sure whether it is related to pimobendan, but it can recover on its own after stopping the treatment.

3. In rare cases, the treatment of mitral valve disease in dogs may cause increased mitral regurgitation.
