Pyrantel Pamoate and Praziquantel Tablets

Pyrantel Pamoate and Praziquantel Tablets

Ingredients:

Pyrantel Pamoate, Praziquantel

Appearance:

White to slightly yellow tablets.

Pharmacological action:

Anti-helminth drug.

Pharmacodynamics: Praziquantel is effective against all developmental stages of the major tapeworms in the feline intestine, such as Taenia vesicularis, Taenia joeyi, Dipyridium canis, Mesophorum and Echinococcus multilocularis. Praziquantel can be quickly absorbed by the parasite's body surface and evenly distributed in the parasite's body, causing changes in the permeability of the parasite's body cell membrane to calcium ions, resulting in abnormal metabolism of the parasite, and rapidly causing severe damage inside and outside the parasite's body wall , leading to contraction and paralysis of the parasite. Pyrantel is a cholinergic stimulant that acts like nicotine and causes parasite spastic paralysis through neuromuscular blockade. Pyrantel is an anti-ascaris specific component that is effective against all nematodes in cats, including Toxocara felis, Ancylostoma tuberculatus and Ancylostoma brasiliensis.

Pharmacokinetics: In all research animals, praziquantel is absorbed very rapidly and almost completely from the stomach and small intestine after oral administration, and reaches the peak plasma concentration after 0.3 to 2 hours. Praziquantel distributes very rapidly to all organs. In all study animals, C14

The half-life of labeled praziquantel and its metabolites is 2-3 hours. Praziquantel is rapidly metabolized in the liver, and the main metabolite is 4-hydroxycyclohexyl derivative of praziquantel. Praziquantel is completely eliminated in the form of its metabolites within 48 hours, of which 40% to 71% are excreted through urine and 13% to 30% are excreted through feces. Pyrantel pamoate was barely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract in all

study animals.
